DeltAlert to CodeRED
Dear Brenham Resident:
As the Communication Director for our city, we have contracted with CodeRED to provide an Emergency Mass Notification System. During an emergency, utilizing CodeRED's system, we will be able to quickly send important information to our residents via email, text message and/or voice call.
Authorized staff members will collect and facilitate these messages. CodeRED already possesses a substantial database that contains some residential contact information. But, you may want to access the opt-in site via the link and review or supplement your contact information. There is no charge to you to participate. We hope that you will take time to participate in this program, so that we may better communicate with you during an emergency.
If you have signed up for DeltAlert in the past, your contact information is being transfered to CodeRED and you won't have to sign up a second time.

|Arbor Day Tree Planting||April 26, 2013|
Friday, April 26th, Arbor Day, the City had a short tree planting ceremony at Linda Anderson at 11am.
A pecan tree at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park was discovered near the ferry landing where Sam Houston may have rested or ridden past on horseback 175 years ago. The nuts were picked from the top of the tree at the right stage of development with the help of USDA, Texas Forest Service, Texas A&M Horticulture Department and Bluebonnet Electric. In honor of the 175 year old Texas pecan tree in Washington-on-the-Brazos-State-Park at the location of the signing of the State’s Declaration of Independence, the Park’s Association is selling the pecan tree seedlings for $100 each. An anonymous donor has purchased five of these tree seedlings in recognition of the City's five major parks, Hohlt, Henderson, Firemans, Jackson, and Linda Anderson.

Oh well, the people here are pretty cool they make sure I have food and water every day and even come talk to me and take me out to play. What I really want is a forever home to call my own.
