Adult Slow Pitch Softball League click to expand

Adult Slow Pitch Softball League

This program provides adults with an organized softball league. Games are held at Henderson Complex. There are three seasons: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each offer a Co-Ed League that consists of a 10 game guarantee and a single elimination tournament at the end of the season. T-Shirts are provided to league and tournament champions. Games are played on Monday nights. Must be 16 years or older.

Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays 10:00am - 11:00am
Come 1, 2, or 3 days a week to best fit your schedule and fitness goals.

Cost: $4.00/visit - 5 punch passes sold for $20.00

Classes offer a wide range of moderate movements to improve range of motion, balance, and coordination while strengthening and toning the body. These classes are instructed by Jane Moorhead.

The Recreation Department will once again host "Movies in the Park". "Movie in the Park" is entering its fourth season and getting bigger each year. This event brings families and children of all ages together for a fun, appropriate, and safe evening of entertainment. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and join us at Hohlt Park. Concessions will be available for purchase. New this summer, "Movie in the Park" will be coming to your local pool. Join us at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center for "Floats-n- Flicks". Movies at the pool are marked with an (*).

This FREE program provides boys and girls the opportunity to showcase their skills and advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships hosted at major league ball parks. This program is for children ages 7-14.

Movie and a Recipe Club

Children love to learn. Cracking eggs, buttering bread and mixing a bowl of batter are all tactile activities that raise their level of understanding. During this 5-week program participants will meet on Tuesday evenings at the Boys & Girls Club for 5 movies and recipes to go with it. This program is for children ages 9-11.

Kidz Camp

Join the City of Brenham Recreation Department for a fun filled week of activities. Activities include: theme days such as Pajama Day, tours of Cici's Pizza where everyone has the opportunity to make their own pizza, angler education and a photo scavenger hunt. A light snack will be provided each day. This program is for children ages 5-12.

Wilderness Survival Camp click to expand

Wilderness Survival Camp

Here is a week long camp for those who are just getting into outdoor survival. Our days will be filled with hands-on activities to better equip our students for living in the woods, whether for short or long term. Skills covered will include: basic shelter construction (debris hut and lean-to), locating and purifying water, making proper fire structures, hunting and trapping methods, edible and medicinal wild plants, rope making, and much more! A small daily snack will be provided. All materials are included.

All Sports Camp

The All Sports Camp exposes kids of all skill levels to a variety of sport activities. We focus on teamwork and keeping each sport fun. Sports include: ultimate Frisbee, swimming, kickball, volleyball, and soccer. A light snack will be provided each day. This program is for children ages 5-12.

Kid Fish

Kid Fish has grown to be one of our most popular events of the year. Hundreds of pounds of catfish are dumped into the outdoor leisure pool and anglers of all ages can attempt to hook the big one. Bring your own pole or use the ones on site. Kid Fish promotes fishing, the outdoors and simply spending time with family. Trophies are awarded to the top catchers.

Christmas Stroll click to expand

Christmas Stroll

The Christmas Stroll is Brenham's way to kick off the Christmas Season with sights and sounds that delight young and old alike. This family fun event kicks off with the lighting of the Courthouse Square Christmas trees and is followed by the Downtown Parade of Lights. This light-filled, old-fashioned parade winds through the streets of downtown and finishes with a special appearance from Santa Clause arriving on a fire truck. After the parade, stroll the downtown shops for unique gifts and warm cider and cookies. The Farmer's Market will be open with mouth watering treats, handmade crafts, and other vendors.

7th Annual Jingle Bells Stroll 5K click to expand

7th Annual Jingle Bell Stroll 5K

What better way to kick off the Christmas Season than participating in the 6th Annual Jingle Bell Stroll 5K Fun Run? This event is held in conjunction with the Downtown Christmas Stroll. Runners, walkers, strollers, and leashed pets are welcome to participate. Participants are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Goodfellows for Christmas distribution.
