Children Reading Program

Children programs are on Tuesdays. 10 am programs (except for closing program) are for ages 0-5 and 2pm programs are for ages 6-10. Teen programs are on Thursdays. All activities will start at 2pm unless notes. Teen programs are for ages 11-18.

How much are the summer programs?

They are all free!

Who can participate in the Summer Reading Program?

Anyone can participate in this summer's events and reading challenges; no Library card is required, But remember, any Texas resident aged 5 and older may receive a library card. Applicants younger than 16 must have a parent or legal guardian present to receive their card.

Readers may choose to participate in one of the three age categories:

  • Babies (ages 0 - 4)
  • Children (ages 5-10)
  • Teens (ages 11 - 18)
  • Adults (ages 19 and older)

What are the dates of the 2018 Summer Reading Program?

The Summer Reading Program runs June 7 - July 13. The final day to earn prizes during the program is July 13. Teens will enjoy a closing program on July 12 and children who earn a ticket will enjoy a pool party on July 13 at the Blue Bell Aquatic Center.

Why do I have to register/ Do I have to register to attend programs?

Registration is only required for those who want to complete Summer Reading challenges in order to win prizes. This helps us know how many prizes to plan for. Registration is not required to attend the programs except for the opening teen cooking program on June 7. Register for that here.
